Fall Photography

October is here! The leaves are changing color, the wind is blowing more, candles are being lit inside, hot cocoa and fall sweaters are here again, yes, it’s autumn! I love the summer but when autumn comes around I’m just as in love with it!

Taking your family photos now in the Fall is a perfect time. You have beautiful foliage background now so make use of it.  Last year we took our family photos in October and we used that for our annual Christmas Card and it was gorgeous!

So today I thought I would share some tips for your outfits.

  1. As usual, take your time to plan your outfits ahead of time.  Don’t leave it for the day before.
  2. Don’t all use the same colors but try to coordinate. Since we are in fall, I would suggest using muted tones. Moss green, purples, deep reds, ochre, deep oranges.  This makes your photos more interesting to look at and gives you the mood.
  3. Use layers. A nice jacket over your sweater, or a big scarf. Layers are a great accessory.
  4. Keep it simple. No need to overcomplicate things. Start with using what you have and work from there.

I made an overview of some outfits together. These outfits are from H&M, C&A, Zara and Zalando and I used affordable items. Nothing crazy expensive.

Okay let me know what you think of it and if it’s useful to you!

Greetings, Samantha
